What did Saddam Hussein want for Iraq? Why was there Western Intervention?

it all to himself. i think their was western intervention to curb a despotic unhuman leadership who was only interested in his own views. whether the west was right or wrong in the long term we will find out in future years. but with the way the middle east etc are going on at the moment it now looks like the peolple are now beginning to turn against such leaders and trying to put their own countries in some sort of order.
