Children`s Book?

For a science project [12th grade], we are making children's books on whatever volvano we have. I have Kilauea. In the book we have to put all the info, Location, type of major zone, type of volcano, height of volcano, date of last eruption, status of volcano, predicitions for next eruption, and interesting facts. Since this is a children's book, how would in incoporate everything?? LIke, how would I write the info so kids would understand it, what types of pics, lettering? I bought a blank hardback book with about 20+ pages. Thanks for all your help!
